Subsidiary code for W5
 

Hi! I'm sorry, but I don't speek portuguese. I hope somebody understand english and can help me.

I have a problem with a W5:

- One year ago, I buy a W5, from Digitel, Venezuela. The phone was locked. I brought it to a "technician" and he pinpointed and unloked it. The phone was Ok.

- In June, 2009, it got a white screen problem. I though it was a software corruption problem. I downloaded a firmware (R452GL8_G_08.00.05R_PDS001_LP0003_DRM0101_VSTG_30 D_01020d_JPJAVA_G_08_R452GL8DAP_01_01_24R_GSTPEMBA MTELMXLA021_1FF.sbf) file from this site, and flashed the phone with Flash & Backup. The version of the firmware matched with the phone version.

- The phone remains in the same way. Then, someone advised me that the problem was in the flex cable. Today, I replaced the cable and the phone screen displays again!!

- But now, due to the firmware issue, the phone ask me for a "Subsidiary code" after I type the PIN code.

I don't understand. It's pinpointed and unlocked!!! Why it ask me about the subsidiary code? Should I give the phone to the "technician" again??? Please, what can I do???

Hi Alex, and thanks for your answer.

The technician only replaced the flex cable. I was who flashed the phone with a firmware downloaded from **********. It's my fault!

I'm asking about a way to re-flash it, with a "free" firmware! I have a friend with a unlocked W5. Maybe it has no sense, but it's not possible to "copy" the firmware from one phone to the other?

Alex, please, answer me in portuguese. I can read it. Your answers maybe are from a automatic translator, and I can't understand very well.

I don't have a firmware backup previously of lock. I have a full save from Flash&Backup of the phone data, but I used it and nothing happen. The firmware I flashed to is from TELCEL. The original was from Digitel.

I think tha Flash&Backup only save some parts of the software, but it doesn't save the loader, boot or something. When I use the old backup, all the screens change to Digitel, but it still ask for the Subsidiary Code!

Now I used a program called SBF-Recalc, ver. 1.2.8. I read in a forum that this program could unlock the subsidiary lock. It found 2 and unlocked it, but the phone still ask for the subsidiary code.

I'll keep researching and'll keep you informed.
